SASSA Balance Check: Payment Amount vs Account Balance
A published grant amount tells you the maximum/current benefit rate. Your bank or payment channel shows what was actually deposited and what remains after withdrawals or fees.

Three different numbers
| Number | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Grant amount | The current monthly benefit rate for the grant |
| Payment record | Whether a payment was processed for a period |
| Account balance | What remains in the bank/payment account after deposits, withdrawals and possible fees |

If the balance is lower than expected
- Check whether the full grant deposit was received.
- Review withdrawals or purchases.
- Check normal bank/account fees.
- Check whether the grant itself is subject to an individual amount or adjustment.
