How grant types differ
- Older Persons and Disability focus on the beneficiary’s own circumstances and means test.
- Child Support focuses on a primary caregiver supporting a child under 18.
- Foster Child requires a valid legal foster-care placement.
- Care Dependency supports a child with severe disability needing full-time special care.
- Grant-in-Aid is additional support for certain existing grant beneficiaries who need full-time care.
- War Veterans applies only to the limited qualifying veteran group.
Permanent grants versus SRD
Permanent social grants have their own eligibility rules, application evidence and payment calendar. SRD R370 is a separate relief programme with period-specific verification and a different payment process.
