A decline reason is more useful than the word ‘declined’ by itself. Identify the reason first, then decide whether the information is correct or whether an appeal is appropriate.

Common groups of decline reasons

When an appeal makes sense
Appeal when the decline decision is based on information you believe is wrong or incomplete and the appeal mechanism is available for that period. Do not appeal simply because you dislike the outcome if the underlying information is accurate.
